Faberge Fumble
You’ve tripped the security system and you only have 15 minutes to remove a valuable Faberge egg from its nest. Your only choice is to drop it out a window and go back for it later when things have cooled down. In this test of ingenuity and problem solving skills, your team will be given the materials to construct a devise that will protect the Faberge from a 35-foot fall. However you won’t be supplied with the directions for its construction. McGuyvering is definitely in order!
Ordinance Test Device
The Army has commissioned your team to build a transportation device for the highly volatile explosive, nitroglycerin. Your team will be given the necessary materials and a simulated vial of nitroglycerin. With these you must fabricate a containment unit that can withstand the shock and impact-testing catapult. If your devise can survive the shock of the launch and a 30’ drop, your team will be awarded this highly lucrative contract.
Roll Cage Testing
Teams must construct a roll cage for their “egg-headed” driver out of the supplied materials. Your cage will be crush tested in the dreaded “Pneumatic Crash-o-Tron 3000” to determine the best design. If your design is less than perfect…you’ll scramble your driver for sure.
Shark Eggs Scramble
Biologists have found a primitive species of shark that lay eggs. Teams must devise a method to protect these eggs from a 45’ fall. Each team will be given a building kit that contains all of the allowed building materials and a “raw shark egg.” The completed contraption will then be “drop” tested to determine the best design.
The Sacred Orb
We have found some mystical Orbs hidden in a secret chamber in the basement. You must develop an Orb transporter that protects the magical sphere as it travels to other worlds. Orbs accelerate into a worm-hole (like in the movie “Contact”) by being dropped from a 30’ high platform. Teams must devise and build a system that will carry the orb through this perilous journey.
